I love baseball
Yet again while watching the ncaa football championship, I realized something again that I love baseball for. Colt McCoy has been dreaming of this day for a minimum of 4-5 years of his life. He has all this pressure to feel that if he doesn’t make perfect decisions and perfect passes his team will lose. Really, how much did any Texas fan plan to run the ball? I doubt many of them. So it is Colt McCoy’s game. Yes, you need a team to be successful but what happens when your star quarterback goes down with a shoulder injury in the 1st Quarter? Yep, a rookie freshman QB is all that you have to determine the fate of your entire season. As a bama fan you don’t want to see anybody hurt but you think, “oh baby” here is an opportunity to jump on the opponent. Everyone knows this is going to get Ugly for Texas. Now Texas put up a valiant effort but they needed an explosive offense to handle the Alabama running game. Without a necessary cog of Colt McCoy you are not going to get the job done.
Now you say ok.. what has this to do with baseball? I love baseball because even when you have an injury more than likely there is backup that can keep the team afloat for that one game. I mean what if your star Catcher pulls a hammie in the World Series. Would it have sucked for the team? Absolutely, but you might find a gem in the rookie catch that comes in. You just never know what you can get in baseball even with the injury bug nipping at your team. If the QB goes down in the football, no fan may say it but every fan is thinking, “man, this one is going to be rough”
